Have not seen the Egyptian portrayal of the tache yet.The earliest known record of a moustache dates back to 300BC. It was documented by a portrait of a Scythian man who wore a moustache while riding a horse (Pazyryk Horeseman). This ancient depiction hangs in the State Hermitage Mueseum in St Petersburg today.

here is a link to more on this "oldest depiction" : http://howtogrowamoustache.com...

I have passed this on to our Egyptologists and I will let you know if I find out more about this for you. Unfortunately I don't know anything but I'm hoping I can find someone here at the museum who does. More soon, hopefully!

Re: Ostrich Eggs

empty because they are water containers

Re: Guardian Figure from French Gabon [Object of the Day #35]

hahah the mask of the prince!
____________
http://www.dnhow.com

Re: An introduction to our child mummy Tanwa

I love visiting your museum and reading your blogs. I have a question and maybe you have the information there with the child mummy. I did the mummy classes at the Academy of Natural Sciences and was told that one of the scientist had found a child mummy while searching for another item in the Academy's storage area. Is this the child that the Academy sent to U of P many years ago.

Re: Mysteries of Kourion

I've been to Kourion twice....love those ruins! Strangely many of the perceptual levels do not require usage of substances and some would disallow accessing some of the perceptual levels. But as for public enjoyments some of perception and the substances would be fun yet serious public enjoyment of a audio-visual synergism.
https://www.facebook.com/GlenE...

Re: National Poetry Month, Week 2

Да, это очень интересно изучать историю страны.
